3rd Sunday of Lent
Introduction(by the Presider):As we continue our Lenten journey, we bring the needs of the Church and the world before our merciful Father.
- For the Church: that she may thirst more deeply for Jesus, the living water, and lead all people to the wellspring of his grace. Lord, hear us.
- For the Diocese of Cork and Ross: that this Lent may be a time of true conversion and renewal for us. Lord, hear us.
- For those who feel spiritually dry or distant from God:that they may encounter Jesus and discover the living water he alone can give. Lord, hear us.
- For vocations to the priesthood and religious life:that the Lord may stir generous hearts to follow him and serve his people with courage and joy. Lord, hear us.
- For peace in our world:that Jesus may end division and guide us in the ways of justice and reconciliation. Lord, hear us.
- For the poor, the sick, and those who struggle for basic necessities: that their needs may be met and their dignity upheld. Lord, hear us.
The Presider prays for the dead: For those who have died (especially N & N): that they may now be satisfied at the eternal fountain of life. Lord, hear us.
Conclusion(by the Presider): Heavenly Father, you alone satisfy the deepest thirst of the human heart. Hear our prayers and lead us to the fullness of life in your Son, through Christ our Lord.
