Bidding Prayers
Catholic Diocese of Cork and Ross, Ireland
Prayer of the Faithful for the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Introduction(by the Presider): Brothers and sisters, St Paul advises that we pray for everyone, as this will please God our Saviour. Let us bring forward our needs with confidence.
- That there may be peace in the world (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us
- That all people may care for God's beautiful creation (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us.
- That civic leaders may have the gift of wisdom (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us.
- That our Cork & Ross pilgrims may have a good trip to Lourdes (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us.
- That everyone who is sick may be comforted (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us.
- That people suffering from depression may be supported (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us.
The presider prays for the dead: For our friends who have died (especially N and N), that they may be filled when they awake with the sight of God's glory (we pray quietly for this). Lord, hear us.
Conclusion (by the Presider) God of glory and majesty, you stoop from the heights to lift up the poor: hear the prayers of all who praise you, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
