Prayers for 24 November (Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe)

Introduction (by the Presider) Let us bring our prayers to the Lord, the great king:

1. For all who follow Christ — that we build his Kingdom  (pause and pray). Lord, hear us.
2. For those who lead nations — that they may bring justice to the poor (pause and pray).Lord, hear us.
3. For the people of the world — that everyone may work for peace (pause and pray).Lord, hear us.
4. For ourselves — that we may show that Christ rules our hearts (pause and pray).Lord, hear us.
5. For the sick and sorrowful — that they may get better (pause and pray).Lord, hear us.
6. For people hurt by hunger and terror — that God may save them (pause and pray).Lord, hear us.

The Presider prays for the dead: For our dead, those who died recently (N and N), and all those whose anniversaries occur (especially N and N), that they may share the glory of Christ (pause and pray). Lord, hear us.

Conclusion (by the Presider) O God, you rule your people with love and compassion: listen to our prayers and give us the help we need, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
