On Saturday 27 July Barryroe Parish welcomed Fr Fergus Ryan
Originally from Ballygarvan, near Cork City, Fr Ryan was ordained priest there by Bishop John Buckley in 2010. He has spent most of his priesthood in Rome ministering (among Italians and pilgrims/tourists), studying and teaching.
Fr Ryan says he once grew tomatoes for a young scientist competition entry and is looking forward to getting his hands dirty in the garden again in Barryroe which is very good for early potatoes he's reliably informed.
