Keeping us safe and sharing the service...

Safety Angels?

As Ireland rides yet another wave of the COVID-19 variant we continue to be challenged on how to keep us safe when attending Mass

Although the numbers of virus infections have risen again the Diocese of Cork & Ross has followed government advice and informed us that there is no need to revert to restricting numbers of people attending Mass by cordoning off pews.  We should however continue to use the safety procedures here...

Safety Procedures for attending Mass

The priority continues to be the safety of our community. This would not be possible without the kind generosity of those who continue to regularly volunteer as stewards and cleaners. Dubbed as our 'Safety Angels' their mission is to greet us with a reassuring smile as they guide and protect us at Mass.

Can you help us?

We really need more regular volunteers. The same few people are consistently carrying out this ministry. Cleaning the church after Mass, especially at the weekends, is so much easier if this is shared with others.  Serving others is one of the greatest lessons Jesus has taught us by His example.  Afterall, you are not being asked to wash everyone's feet!  Here's a reminder of the last verse of the song The Servant King:

So let us learn how to serve
And in our lives enthrone Him
Each other's needs to prefer
For it is Christ we're serving

If you would like to volunteer as a ‘Safety Angel’ at either of the two parish churches please:

Take a look at the Rota

Tell us what dates you can offer

Therefore, as we have opportunity
let us do good to all people,
especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Galatians 6:10
