The feast of the Presentation of the Lord, celebrated 40 days after Christmas, commemorates Jesus still as a baby being brought to the Temple by Mary and Joseph to fulfill Jewish laws regarding purification and the redemption of the firstborn. Jesus is seen as the 'Light to the Nations' and Simeon and Anna recognise him as the Messiah.
